There are few Disney cartoon series more beloved than Tic and Tac: Rescue Rangers. One of the iconic series that emerged in the 1990s, it featured everyone’s favorite chipmunks as they retaliated against various criminals and their nefarious plots. Considering this is something of a golden age for reboots of classic Disney properties, it was inevitable that they too would get the treatment.
The trailer for their new movie not only gives viewers more Chip and Dale, but it also contains a number of fun Easter eggs for those who know where to look for them.
Light appears at Fan Con
The beauty and the Beast is, of course, one of the most beloved Disney films. It’s a testament to the studio’s artistic power, and it’s definitely earned its place in the pantheon of great movies. There is also Lumière, one of Disney’s best acolytes, with his French accent and good-natured charm.
Therefore, it’s not entirely surprising that he makes an appearance in the trailer, in this case appearing briefly on screen during Dale’s appearance at a fan convention.
The flounder lives on land
Flounder is another of Disney’s big sidekicks. In fact, it’s hard to think of The little Mermaid without thinking of all the times he was there for Ariel (even though he was often afraid of his own shadow).
In the trailer, he is one of the cartoons who are kidnapped by some nefarious force. Although the trailer doesn’t explain how it could be, he seems to have a very happy existence on earth.
Sneezy is on one of the Missing Toons posters
As the trailer unfolds, it becomes clear that one of the main plot motivations will be the mysterious disappearance of several iconic cartoon characters. In one of the trailer’s best moments, the camera pans through a series of posters of missing toons. One of them includes Atchoum, one of the dwarves of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Although the trailer doesn’t reveal what is done to the missing toons, hopefully this beloved Disney icon can make it out relatively unscathed.
Leia and Kylo Ren make an appearance via mouse cosplayers
Now that star wars is now an integral part of the Disney brand, it only makes sense that its characters would appear elsewhere. In this particular trailer, the viewer sees two mice who are clearly dressed as Leia (from her appearance in A new hope) and his son, Kylo Ren.
It’s a fun send-off of two of the most iconic characters to ever appear in the star wars universe. It’s also a sign of the number of Disney iconographic elements likely to appear in this film.
Several items, including the Mad Hatter’s hat, in an evidence locker
Although it’s one of the most underrated Disney movies, Alice in Wonderland deserves a lot of credit for being willing to take storytelling risks. That’s no surprise, given that the original novel itself is quite an unusual and disturbing creation.
Even though the Mad Hatter, one of the film’s most iconic characters, doesn’t appear in person in the trailer, there is a moment when his hat and parts of many other characters appear in what looks like an evidence locker.
An ancient Peter Pan makes an appearance
Even though Peter Pan is supposed to be the hero of the movie that bears his name, it’s also true that there’s something slightly wicked about him. The trailer, however, makes it clear that at this point he’s become a villain in his own right. He even goes so far as to say that he was rather a fan of Alvin and the Chipmunks.
While it’s still too early to tell if he’ll be the film’s main antagonist, it’s clear he’ll be one that Tic and Tac will have to overcome.
Pumbaa briefly appears
There are few Disney characters more beloved than Pumbaa, the loveable (albeit rather smelly) warthog from both versions of The Lion King. As with many other characters, his appearance in the trailer is brief, but it’s enough to show that he’ll be voiced by Seth Rogen, who also provided the voice in the live-action remake of the film.
We don’t know how important his role is going to be, but it’s always a pleasure to see him in any case.
One of the cars appears to be from the same universe as the Pixar movie
While it may not be considered one of the best the Pixar studio has to offer, there’s no doubt that Cars has its charms and has more than enough of the animation giant’s signature touch.
However, none of the car characters from the film actually appear in the trailer, there is a car that Dale encounters that appears to be from this universe. It is clear that this film will cover several different creative universes.
Baloo seems to have a band
Many great animal characters have appeared throughout Disney history. Baloo, in the old and the new version, has an undeniable charm. In the film of the 1960s in particular, he also has a very keen sense of music and rhythm.
This trailer takes that conceit and works with it. In this universe, he is clearly part of a group, since the drums on stage during the Fan Con bear his name.
There’s a Moana cosplayer at Fan Con
Moana is widely considered one of the best Disney animated films of the 2010s. It has all the key ingredients of a hit Disney animated film, with great songs, a compelling heroine, and a story that holds a lesson. key.
Even though Moana doesn’t make an appearance in this trailer herself, during Fan Con there is someone who is clearly doing a bit of Moana cosplay. It’s another sign of just how much of a touchstone the film has become.
