Easter Bunny makes surprise visit during White House press briefing

A White House staff member, dressed as an Easter Bunny, made a surprise visit to the White House press room as press secretary Jen Psaki concluded a regular press briefing with reporters.

As part of the Easter celebrations at the White House, the life-size bunny, wearing a face mask, distributed Easter eggs and candy to reporters.

“We have a special guest. I will say we know this is one of the events where people can take their kids, family members, friends, ”Psaki said as the Easter Bunny walked to the podium.

“It’s not quite the same. We’ll make a big one next year, but we still wanted to have a special commemorative visitor and Easter eggs for all of you from the President and the First Lady, ”she added.

According to The hill, the multi-colored eggs given to reporters were decorated with a photo of a rabbit wearing a face mask and had the signatures of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on the back.

The Easter Bunny had also made an appearance at an event earlier Monday when President Biden delivered the Easter message, in lieu of the traditional White House Easter Egg Roll, which was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The traditional event is canceled for the second year in a row due to the pandemic.

It was later revealed that it was Meghan Hays, Director of Message Planning at the White House, who dressed up as an Easter Bunny after tweeting a photo of her in a costume.

“Do they mean when they say ‘other duties as assigned’? Hays wrote sharing the photo.
