Easter Sunday is celebrated in the churches of Fort Smith.
At First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, the 100th anniversary is this month because the actual anniversary in 2021 was canceled due to the pandemic.
Reverend Bud Reeves said Easter was a lot like the Super Bowl.
“This is our biggest, most wonderful week.”
Easter Sunday will be in person.
“We are very happy this year to have our services in full post-pandemic and allow everyone to be in person. Masks are only optional for those who are not vaccinated and everyone can use them. leave it out, so it’ll kind of be like the good old days.’
Music, service and children’s activities will make Easter a “big day”.
“Easter is a defining time for all of us as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ,” Reeves said.
Holy Week at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception, Easter Sunday service is at 10 a.m.
First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith Easter Sunday services are at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Fort Smith’s First Baptist Church is located at 1400 Grand Ave. Easter Sunday service is at 10:30 a.m.
Community Easter Sunrise service is at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 17 at Hunt’s Park, 3000 Dodson Ave.
The Legacy Health and Rehabilitation Center Easter Egg Hunt is from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 16
