Easter Sunday worshipers greet Trump and Melania as heroes before wowing Mar-a-Lago egg roll crowd
FORMER President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania were greeted warmly as they attended a church service on Easter Sunday before heading to Mar-a-Lago for an egg roll.
The couple received an enthusiastic applause as they stood in the front row of Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Yesterday morning.
Senior Pastor Todd Mullins acknowledged the presence of the 45th Commander-in-Chief and former First Lady in his sermon, saying: “It is also our privilege, my privilege, today to welcome the President and Mrs. Trump as well.”
The former first couple were then greeted with a flurry of cheers, to which they responded with delighted smiles as they turned to wave to the crowd.
Afterwards, the couple were seen talking to Mullins as the service continued with a performance from a live band.
In a statement released after the event, Mullins, whose father was a member of Trump’s Evangelical Executive Advisory Board, said, “We always invite everyone to join us at Christ Fellowship in celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
“This year, perhaps more than ever, we hope that Jesus’ message of hope and salvation will spread widely and bring joy to all who hear it,” he continued.
Onlookers appeared stunned to learn of the Trumps’ presence at the religious event.
In the photographs of the service at Christ Fellowship Church, which seats approximately 1,500 people, none of the attendees appear to be wearing masks.
The Trumps also appeared to mingle freely with other guests and not practice social distancing.
After the service, the duo returned to their estate in Mar-a-Lago via a motorcade to spend time with the rest of their family at an Easter egg roll in the property’s stately gardens.
Donald Trump Jr., his five children, his partner Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Trump, Lara Trump and their son and daughter were present at the festive event.
In a video posted to Rumble showing the children playing, Don. Jr joked, “I’m not sure they work very hard for this, but it’s still a good tradition and they had a great time.”
Reflecting later on the egg roll on Instagram, the elder Trump called it “a great and healthy family tradition that we have been practicing for a long time.”
Staff at the Mar-a-Lago resort provided the children with bunny-shaped cakes to decorate, which Don Jr.’s children also participated in.
Don Jr. shared a series of adorable family snaps from his Instagram Story on Sunday.
“Easter with Grandpa. Hope you all had a good time,” he wrote alongside one of the snaps, showing his kids with Trump senior.
In a statement released through his Save America Political Action Committee, Trump delivered an Easter message in which he targeted his political enemies.
“Happy Easter to EVERYONE, including the CRAZY on the radical left who rigged our presidential election and who want to destroy our country!” He wrote.
The message follows a statement he sent on Friday, in which Trump also criticized “Fake News Media” for calling his unsubstantiated allegations of election fraud “baseless, unfounded, unjustified, etc.” during the discussion of the November vote.
“Unfortunately, there was massive fraud in the 2020 presidential election, and a lot of very angry people understand that,” he said.
Trump also claimed that new information would be released to further substantiate his claims, despite the ex-president and several of his allies filing more than 60 lawsuits after the election, with almost all of them being dismissed due to a lack of evidence.
“Each day that passes, and unfortunately for the MAD people of the radical left, more and more facts are emerging”, he continued, before adding: “Other than that, Happy Easter!”
