Ffos Las racecourse in Carmarthenshire ready for the exceptional Easter Sunday
Ffos Las Racecourse in Carmarthenshire is ready to welcome crowds for its Easter Sunday celebrations on April 17.
The Easter Eggstravaganza Family Funday will mix horse racing with a range of entertainment for the whole family.
As well as seven horse races, there’s plenty going on off the track, including characters from the Harry Potter books and films such as Harry himself, Hagrid, Dumbledore, Snape and the Sorting Hat – which will happen throughout the daytime.
There will also be funfair rides, bouncy castles, go-karts, face painting and ice cream for the first 150 children through gates which open at 11am.
Parking at the racetrack is also free during the day.
Patrons of Ffos Las, which is located near Trimsaran, said they couldn’t think of a better way to spend Easter Sunday than enjoying an afternoon of jump racing.
Nothing beats the thrill of watching live jump races as thundering hooves fly past you towards the finish.
It’s the perfect excuse to gather family and friends for delicious food and drink, and those under 18 get free entry.
There will truly be something for everyone on the day.
Ffos Las executive director Phil Bell said: “Easter Sunday is a big day for us, we’ve spent a lot of money on entertainment which is all free for families.
“The big message from me is that we have fairground rides, Harry Potter characters and bouncy castles, an Easter egg hunt, lots of stuff, but it’s all free once you get to the hippodrome.
He added: “Easter is always popular but especially after the difficult two years of the pandemic, it is one of the first big weekends of the year for Ffos Las and it promises to be great for everyone. .
“We have a fantastic day ahead of us and I look forward to welcoming customers to the course.”
As for the horse races, the first race will start at 1 p.m. and will see seven obstacle courses, with the last scheduled to take place at 4:25 p.m.
Ticket options and prices are available on the Ffos Las Racecourse website here, with the option to upgrade to one of the course’s exclusive restaurant or hospitality packages.
Looking ahead to Saturday, May 28, the course will hold its Beer and Cider Festival Race Night with a DJ set after the horse race.
While on June 2, rock band Kaiser Chiefs will perform at the Hippodrome.
