Is “Easter Sunday” streaming on HBO Max or Netflix?

There might not be a big holiday in August, but comedian Jo Koy is still celebrating Easter with his new film Easter Sunday, opening in theaters this weekend.

Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, with a script by Ken Cheng and Kate Angelo, Easter Sunday stars stand-up comedian Jo Koy as, you guessed it, a stand-up comedian. This version of Jo is called Joe Valencia and he’s having trouble finding work. It doesn’t help that he’s a single dad, and he has to attend a huge gathering on Easter Sunday with his large Filipino family. But hey, what could go wrong?

Also starring Jimmy O. Yang, Tiffany Haddish, Tia Carrere, Brandon Wardell, Eva Noblezada, Lydia Gaston, Asif Ali, Rodney To, Eugene Cordero and Lou Diamond Phillips, Easter Sunday promises a barrel of laughs no matter what season you watch it. WHERE TO LOOK EASTER SUNDAY:

For now the only way to look Easter Sunday is to go to the cinema. Easter Sunday will open in theaters in the United States on Friday, August 5. You can find tickets at a theater near you by fandango.

WHEN EASTER SUNDAY STREAMING?

There is no digital or VOD release date yet for Easter Sunday. That said, you probably won’t have to wait too long.

Easter Sunday is a Universal movie, and previous Universal movies like The man from the north landed on VOD about a month, or 45 days, after it opened in theaters. Whether Easter Sunday follows a similar pattern, you can expect to be able to rent the film on VOD in mid-September 2022. You should also expect to see Easter Sunday on Peacock bounty Around the same time.

All this to say: we don’t know exactly when Easter Sunday will be on VOD. But we can expect Easter Sunday be on Peacock in 2022, because starting with the 2022 movie slate, Universal movies now go to Peacock Premium as soon as 45 days after they open in theaters. (That said, it could be later than 45 days.)

WHEN EASTER SUNDAY BE ON PEACOCK?

There is no Peacock streaming release date yet for Easter Sunday. However, we can make an educated guess as to when Easter Sunday will be on the streaming service. Another recent film from Universal, The man from the northbegan streaming on Peacock Premium after a 45-day theatrical run and was also available on VOD the following day.

Whether Easter Sunday follows a similar streaming strategy, you can expect Easter Sunday release on Peacock mid to late September 2022.

No. Easter Sunday is a Universal movie, not a Disney movie, and will therefore never air on Disney.+

WILL BE EASTER SUNDAY STREAMING ON HBO MAX?

No. Easter Sunday is a Universal movie, not a Warner Bros. Additionally, HBO Max won’t be showing any more movies in theaters in 2022. (Last year, Warner Bros. opted to simulcast its streaming movie slate, meaning HBO Max subscribers could watch movies like Matrix Resurrections at home. This year, however, theatrical films from Warner Bros. will have a 45-day theatrical run only before moving to HBO Max.) It’s possible that Easter Sunday will be on HBO and HBO Max one day, but it won’t be anytime soon.

IS EASTER SUNDAY STREAMING ON NETFLIX?

Easter Sunday won’t be on Netflix anytime soon. However, the film could eventually go to Netflix, but not for another 4 years. A deal between Universal and Netflix gives the streaming service access to Universal Filmed Entertainment Group’s live-action movies about four years after they opened in theaters. In the case of Easter Sundaythat means August 2026. That’s a long wait, so if you want to see the movie ASAP, your best bet is to hit a theater or wait for it to come on Peacock or digital.
