Ms. Marvel Had So Many Iron Man Easter Eggs Kevin Feige Had To Put His Foot Down

We’re almost in June, which means we’ll see soon Ms. Marvel hit Disney+. As Moon Knight before that, Ms. Marvel delivers an all-new Marvel Superhero, a character we’ve never seen before. But unlike Moon Knightthe Ms. Marvel The origin story should provide plenty of MCU Easter Eggs. This is evident from trailers and TV spots.

It turns out that Iron Man could have been the focus of many MCU references on the show. But Marvel boss Kevin Feige had to put them down. Before continuing, we warn you that some MCU spoilers may follow below.

Easter eggs were Moon Knight biggest problem

Before we even get to Iron Man’s Easter Eggs in Ms. Marvelwe cannot ignore the disappointment that Moon Knight has been regarding MCU references and continuity.

The show features several easter eggs that help us identify its relationship to the rest of the MCU. For example, we know that Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) was alive during the blip and the events of the TV show happen after End of Game. There’s even a carefully hidden reference to Kang (Jonathan Majors).

But overall, Marvel has gone out of its way to keep MCU connections from happening. Moon Knight. Pretending that the rest of the MCU isn’t there ultimately hurts the story. You cannot promote Moon Knight as an MCU installment and fails to provide the connections fans expect.

It’s not even about having Easter eggs on the show for the sake of having them. And it’s not like we have crazy expectations for Moon Knight, given what Marvel has done with other shows. Marvel tries to tell specific stories, and that often leads to Avengers-related storylines. But Moon Knight under-delivered.

Will pass Ms. Marvel, we don’t expect the upcoming TV show to go overboard when it comes to Easter eggs and cameos. Again, that’s not what Marvel does. But the show should offer plenty of MCU connections, no matter how often Iron Man Easter eggs appear onscreen.

Ms. Marvel Iron Man Easter Eggs

Iron Man is the character we want to see back in the MCU despite his death. And Marvel gave us alternate Iron Man variants last year, in What if…?. The only way to get Iron Man back is with multiverse variants. But the animated versions aren’t exactly the kind of cameos we want.

Then many Doctor Strange 2 rumors said the film would feature Tom Cruise’s version of Tony Stark. But that didn’t happen either.

Marvel apparently wants the public to move on, forget about Iron Man, and focus on the new Phase 4 heroes, many of whom will be part of future Avengers teams.

With that in mind, we never expected any significant Iron Man developments from a Marvel show, especially Ms. Marvel. It’s not like we’re hoping to see any RDJ cameos on the next TV show. If anyone should appear in this project, it’s Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. After all, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel is set to join Captain Marvel in Wonders Next year.

But it turns out that Vellani is a “huge, huge Iron Man fan” in real life. She said SFX Magazine (Going through The Direct) that she pushed for more Iron Man references on the show.

It eventually ended with a veto from Kevin Feige, who had to put his foot down and stop the overuse of Iron Man Easter Eggs in Ms. Marvel:

I’m a big, big Iron Man fan. I know Kamala is more Captain Marvel, but I was asking for a lot more Iron Man references in there. Like, ‘I think she needs an Iron Man action figure, more Iron Man.’ There was a point where we got to too much Iron Man, it was Kevin’s note!

The Avengers in Phase 4

We have no idea where Ms. Marvel fits into the overall MCU timeline. But the action must happen after End of Game. It’s the only way for Kamala Khan to develop a preference for Captain Marvel.

Let’s not forget that Carol Danvers had been gone from Earth for years. She came back to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) at the end of Infinity War. And Captain Marvel was legendary in the Avengers HQ fight at End of Game. Ordinary people talk about his powers during this battle, like we saw in Wanda Vision.

Separately, Hawk Eye told us how important the Avengers are to the world. We also saw the same feeling in Spider-Man: Far From Homealthough Marvel has also played down references to Iron Man. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showed us that not everyone likes superheroes. But it also showed us that, again, the world is very aware of these super powerful beings.

What I mean is that the Iron Man easter eggs in Ms. Marvel are not a crazy idea. This is the origin story of a teenager who loves the Avengers. And let’s not forget that Iron Man and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) died heroically defending the planet.

Again, rumors say that the first Ms. Marvel the episode will have a stunning effect Spider-Man: No Coming Home Easter egg in the form of a post-credits scene after episode 1.

We’ll see exactly what kind of MCU Easter Eggs Ms. Marvel has in store for us on June 8, when the show hits Disney+.
