Two Rivers Church celebrates Easter Sunday

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Children, parents, church and community members gathered at Two Rivers Church on Sunday, April 17 for family fun after the Easter service.

The church celebrated Easter with an egg hunt, face painting, bouncy houses and photo ops with the Easter Bunny. Fresh cotton candy and goodie bags were also provided.

Church member Emmaleea Gardner said she was happy to see the community come together for this special day and explained the true meaning of the celebration.

“I feel good that they came to have a wonderful day at this church – with all the fun and family memories they may have,” Gardner said. “But the real reason we have Easter is because Jesus is resurrecting after the three days he died and rose again on the cross.”

For families who missed the Easter celebration, church member Nicky Coleman said Two Rivers Church will be hosting another special event for children in the community.

“Two Rivers Kids Presents ‘Let’s Make a Deal,'” Coleman said. “It’s free for kids ages 6-11 and features games, skits, music, candy, and creative Bible lessons.”

Lets Make a Deal will run from Sunday April 24 to Sunday May 15. More information about the event can be found here.
